About us
Koitaki Country Club is located approximately 35 kms behind the capital city of PNG, Port Moresby. The drive can be quite difficult with poorly surfaced roads and numerous hairpin bends as the road climbs up the Owen Stanley Range. I usually take a security escort but with precautions this is probably not necessary. On arriving at the Sogeri town site continue past the National High School onto a gravel/mud road. You will see a large sign for the country club. The country club has a quite reasonable annual membership or you can do as I do and pay the K50 per vehicle entrance fee. To the club itself and the meals. The club house/restaurant is situated amidst rolling green fields and is quite picturesque. It's always a nice change from the dust and dirt of Port Moresby. Meals on offer are perhaps typical of what would be found in a similar establishment in Australia or New Zealand ranging from toasted sandwiches to burgers, fish & chips to steak & chips. The meals are accompanied by a good side salad. A chef cooks the meals in a kitchen on the decking around the clubhouse. Service can often be quite slow as well so advice is to order food on arrival, go get some cold beers and enjoy the view! All things considered Koitaki is well worth a visit if looking for something to do on a weekend in the PNG capital. Good food, cold beer, a big swimming pool, horse riding and a large grassed area to walk around! https://www.tripadvisor.co.nz/ShowUserReviews-g294118-d8319342-r277421325-Koitaki_Country_Club-Port_Moresby_Papua_Region.html#
